With more three weeks left of 2014 House Republicans met up with U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, on Saturday to talk strategy before the 2016 House races. With Congress facing a deadline to fund the federal government next week, Kentucky U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell again pledged on Saturday he would not risk a government shutdown once Republicans take control of the U.S. Senate in January.
