Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, who is running for re-election this year, is remaining quiet about a possible bid for U.S. Senate in 2016 when the post is again on the ballot, but he says the discourse coming out of Washington is what has been bad for the United States. Northern Kentucky hospital sees rise in ER Medicaid visits while overall usage is down

EDGEWOOD – Since the Affordable Care Act and Kentucky’s expanded Medicaid program went into effect, some Kentucky hospitals have reported an increase in emergency room usage for non-emergency cases. Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, for one, has reported a 12 percent increase in emergency room usage. But, that’s not the case everywhere. UPDATED — The escalating political tensions surrounding the coal industry in Kentucky has sparked another call for a resignation — this time a longtime Democratic House member. During the Special Subcommittee meeting on Energy in Frankfort Friday, Rep. Tim Couch, R-Hyden, called on Democratic state Rep.
