Tom Burch is not a qualified candidate because he doesn’t live in the district. Jim Stammerman alleged in the suit filed in Jefferson Circuit Court that Brian Lyle Krueger does not live in the 30th House District in JeffersonCounty and thus cannot represent it. Burch, chairman of the House Health and Welfare Committee, has represented the district since 1978. He also represented the district from 1972 to 1975. The judge-executives of Campbell, Boone and Kenton counties are looking to take advantage of their captive audiences in their jails by offering a heroin recovery program for inmates. Campbell County Judge-Executive Steve Pendery is studying ways to incorporate drug treatment as part of a planned 108-bed addition to the Campbell County Detention Center that’s due to be completed in early 2015. Republican House candidate Brian Krueger will have to prove his residence in court if he wants to take on longtime Rep. Tom Burch, D-Louisville, who has served in the legislature for the better part of 40 years. Louisville voter Jim Stammerman has filed a lawsuit in Jefferson County Circuit Court alleging that Krueger does not live in the 30th House District in central Jefferson County, which Burch first won in 1972.
