LEXINGTON — The lone televised debate between Kentucky U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell and his Democratic opponent, Alison Lundergan Grimes, covered little new ground as the candidates recycled points voiced extensively on the campaign trail, but the hourlong exchange on Kentucky Educational Television Monday featured some testy exchanges as tempers flared between the two. Grimes releases ad featuring Wendell Ford saying he 'believes in Alison'

Former U.S. Senator and governor Wendell Ford is endorsing the candidacy of Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes in her bid to unseat U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell in his bid for a sixth-term in office. The 30 second ad started running statewide Monday features Ford, 90, who was diagnosed with lung cancer in July. Conway picks up endorsement United Food and Commercial Workers Local 227

Democratic Attorney General Jack Conway’s campaign announced Monday an endorsement by the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 227, the fourth labor group that has publicly backed his gubernatorial bid. Making a pitch for right-to-work, state Sen. Chris McDaniel, R-Taylor Mill, said he and James Comer will be focused on economic issues heading into the 2015 GOP gubernatorial primary. Kentucky U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell is using clips of media outlets criticizing Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes’ avoiding a question about whether or not she voted for President Barack Obama in a new ad released Monday.
