National Democrats go dark on Kentucky's airwaves in U.S. Senate race

Two weeks after launching a $1.4 million television advertising buy against U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has left Kentucky’s TV screens three weeks before Election Day. CQ Roll Call first reported the DSCC’s decision Tuesday. “The DSCC has now spent more than 2 million in Kentucky and continues to make targeted investments in the ground game while monitoring the race for future investments, but is currently not on the air in the state,” a DSCC official... Read more 

Grimes posts fundraising record with $4.9M haul in third quarter

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes broke her previously held fundraising record after reporting $4.9 million raised in the last fundraising quarter before next month’s election. Grimes’ previous high-water mark came in her second quarter, when she collected $4 million from April 1 through June 30. The third quarter covers July 1 through Sept. 30. Grimes’ campaign announced it had $4.4 million on hand, more than any other Democrat in a competitive U.S. Senate race, and $16.1 million raised in all.... Read more
