The day of the latest Bluegrass Poll’s release, an apparently misposted result by pollster SurveyUSA showing Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes ahead of Kentucky U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell by 2 percent. The link , first reported on Twitter by Insider Louisville’s Joe Sonka, has Grimes ahead of McConnell 46 percent to 44 percent with a 4 percent margin of error. Report shows Democratic operatives around the state downplaying Grimes' support for coal

Democrats across the state say Grimes is using the pro-coal message to get elected and will not necessarily support the industry if elected, according to a report released Monday with undercover video from Democratic offices around Kentucky. An anonymous complaint has been filed against a Republican state Senate candidate, accusing him of using the nonprofit he runs to promote his campaign. Danny Carroll, president and CEO of Easter Seals West Kentucky in Paducah, is running against Democrat Jeff Parker for the 2nd Senate District seat vacated by independent Bob Leeper, who is vying to become McCracken County’s next judge-executive.
