Katie Stine contemplates next career move after 20 years in General Assembly

State Senate Pro Tem Katie Stine will be finishing up a 20-year career in the General Assembly, the last 16 in the Senate, at the end of this year. Heiner raises $56,000 in latest quarter but says his focus remains on state House races

Republican Hal Heiner has collected about $56,000 for his gubernatorial bid in the latest fundraising quarter, but he says the light third-quarter haul shows he has kept his promise to focus on GOP candidates for state House. Heiner reported $56,492 to the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance, pushing his fundraising total to $4.45 million since he formed a ticket with former Republican Party of Kentucky official K.C. Conway raises nearly $400,000 for 2015 gubernatorial campaign in quarter, pushing total to $1.1 million

Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway raised nearly $400,000 in the latest fundraising quarter, giving the Democratic hopeful more than $1.1 million raised since he entered the race in early May. Conway’s campaign announced the $397,539 raised late Monday, which The Lexington Herald-Leader first reported . James Comer nets more than half a million in 22 days for his gubernatorial bid

Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner James Comer netted $540,000 for his Republican gubernatorial bid next year, his campaign announced Monday. The Lexington Herald-Leader first reported the total, which Comer’s campaign said comes from about 800 donors representing 71 of Kentucky’s 120 counties. Monday marked the deadline for the third fundraising quarter, and Comer’s haul comes 22 days after he launched his GOP bid alongside state Sen. Chris McDaniel, R-Taylor Mill. Louisville Democrat Neville Blakemore files for state treasurer in 2015

Neville Blakemore, a Louisville Democrat and executive chairman of Great Northern Building Products, has filed to run for state treasurer next year. The Kentucky Registry of Election Finance confirmed that Blakemore filed a letter of intent to begin raising and spending more in the race. His first fundraising report will cover the last quarter of this year. Blakemore could not be reached for comment by Pure Politics, but a campaign website with a red, white and blue campaign logo came online... Read more

Leaked Bluegrass Poll results show Grimes up 2 percent as online national survey has McConnell leading by 4

UPDATED: The day of the latest Bluegrass Poll’s release, an apparently premature posting by pollster SurveyUSA showing Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes ahead of Kentucky U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell by 2 percent. The link , first reported on Twitter by Insider Louisville’s Joe Sonka, has Grimes ahead of McConnell 46 percent to 44 percent among 632 likely voters with a 4 percent margin of error.
